AMD RX 570 and RX 580 Sold-out from Retailers Due to Bitcoin value Appreciation

Bitcoin has significantly jumped its value since last couple of months, this increase in cryptocurrency has driven the demand for AMD GPUs lately and as of yesterday, AMD RX 570 and RX 580 have ran out of stock from top retailers including Amazon, Newegg, BestBuy.

There is no information on re-stocking of the GPUs again; however, the Bitcoin value has already appreciated to 160% this year alone and reportedly, the trend is likely to continue for rest of the year.

The further escalation in Bitcoin appreciation may cause third party sellers to sell the used or available RX 570 and RX 580 GPUs at insanely high price, making the most of the current situation. This mere speculation can come true, since sellers are already using the escalating value of cryptocurrency as sole reason to sell their last generation AMD GPUs at unreasonable prices. As an example, currently the RX 470 graphics cards are up for sale above $100 at eBay.com.

GPU markets are undergoing with the most effect due to increase in Bitcoin value. As a AMD spokesperson wrote to CNBC stating that:

The gaming market remains our priority. We are seeing solid demand for our Polaris-based offerings in the gaming and newly resurgent cryptocurrency mining markets based on the strong performance we are delivering.

what you think about the current shortage of AMD RX 570 and RX 580? Will you buy the overpriced AMD GPU due to shortage of stock? or you will want to wait till AMD resupplies the stock at retailers? Let us know in comments section below.
