Nvidia always brings in something new or some fixes with every iteration of driver update. This month we have received tons of fixes for new games, support for SLI or multi-GPU users and a fix for NVIDIA Control Panel.
Driver update 382.05 adds game ready driver support for some new released titles as such Prey, Battlezone and Gears of War 4 bringing multi-GPU update. This support was much needed since long, especially for Gears of War 4. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III gets SLI profiles.
The first thing new update brings to the plate is the fixing of SLI issues with two games; No Man’s Sky and World of Tanks. The Foundation update 1.10 Patch in No Man’s Sky enables texture corruption, while BSODing World of Tanks. Both of these known issues for SLI users only are supposed to get fixed in this recent driver update.
Second on the plate that driver update brings to us is fix for NVIDIA Control Panel. The software both at desktop context menu as well as the NVIDIA System icon has run away previously due to the prior drive update. The issue will be fixed in this recent update.
Lastly, the driver improves stability fix and users are highly unlike to get hanged at black screen from a cold boot. The Driver also fixes sleep mode for extended display in a multi-display configurations.
In a parallel news, Galax has introduced another addition to its GPU lineup with the release of GeForce GTX 1070 KATANA. The GPU design is based on single-slot and small form factor. Galax showed off GTX 1070 single slot design last year and since then no word on its availability was mentioned ever. Unlike the previous generation of single-slot GPU designs; most of them never launched after showcase, Galax has made GTX 1070 a reality.
