MSI Teases X299 Gaming PRO, a Mid-range Motherboard

MSI has teased another leak regarding its X299 Gaming Pro motherboard that will reportedly support KabyLake-X Core-i7 and Core-i9 SkyLake-X processors. The picture teased by MSI shows support for LGA2066 motherboards and board features eight DDR4 DIMM slots.

Reportedly, MSI is reinforcing the memory slots on each side of CPU socket and naming it as Turbo Socket. This feature will most likely be an exclusive feature from MSI, as previously they introduced extra pins in X99 motherboards for overclocking. MSI will soon unveil detailed information on X299 and only then we will come to know about its features for sure.

X299 Gaming PRO

Reagarding the eight DDR4 DIMM slots, from the looks of it X299 may have a single-sided latching system. This will allow placement of a PCIe x16 slot directly below the DIMM slot.

The teased photo only shows blue LED, but we speculate that X299 Gaming PRO may come with RGB LED. The I/O (input output) cover also appears to have metallic trim or something similar to carbon fiber pattern.

There is nothing much to know on X299 Gaming PRO motherboard by MSI, as there are only leaks without any official reveal. However, we hope that MSI may show X299 Gaming Pro at Computex 2017 event, which is due from this May 30 to June 3, 2017. Stay tuned to know more on X299 Gaming PRO.

In parallel news, AMD has quietly added Radeon RX 560; cheap but quite powerful graphics card to its Radeon series. The graphics card consumes 80W power while packing a good enough performance giving 1080p on few titles and 60FPS on most of the new games. All in all, it only costs $99.
