Sucker Punch, developer of the open-world action-adventure Infamous franchise, is rumored to be “bringing something special” to E3 2017.
The Washington-based studio has been relatively quiet ever since it got done with the release of Infamous Second Son and Infamous First Light, a standalone downloadable content pack, for PlayStation 4 back in 2014.
In the past two years, there have been several rumors about Sucker Punch working on something new. While an announcement or confirmation was never made, the recent release of PlayStation 4 Pro forced the rumor mill to begin spinning once again. It is now believed that the mysterious project is being designed to harness the power of the beefier hardware much to the delight of the audience.

Could we be seeing another open-world iteration that is on a much larger scale? The rumors don’t say. Insiders, though, are fairly certain that Sucker Punch will be showing up during Sony’s press conference at E3 2017 in the coming months. This is despite the fact that the developer is not even listed to appear at this year’s expo. However, since Sucker Punch is a first-party studio, it is possible that Sony itself will be making the announcement.
Sony is already boasting a pretty impressive lineup of games for PlayStation 4. We are hoping to hear more on The Last of Us Part II, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, God of War, Days Gone, Crash Bandicoot, and more.
