As part of Apple’s fight against AIDS and commemorating its decade-long partnership, the flagship iPhone 7 has today been launched in a Red color variant. As a result, the color lineup for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus now extends to six options in total: Gold, Rose Gold, Jet Black, Matte Black, Silver, and now Red.
Ever since joining hands with RED for the fight against HIV/AIDS and its transmission from mother to an unborn child, Apple has sold products worth more than $130 million. These products include iPhone cases, smart batteries, headphones, Apple Watch bands, etc. The proceeds have gone to the cause, providing counseling, testing, and medicine to the affected in collaboration with RED. This is the first time, however, that an actual product has been offered by Apple, and it comes at a time when the 10-year anniversary of their partnership is celebrated.
As for the nitty gritty of the new iPhone color, it is available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants, priced at $749 and $869 respectively. According to the blog post announcing the (Product)Red iPhone 7, users would be able to buy it starting this Friday, March 24, from 8:01 a.m. PT onwards.
