EA is making sure that its Star Wars: Battlefront player-base has something to do this weekend. From December 23-25, the Death Star expansion pack will be available for free for everyone. In addition to that, logging in on the weekend will grant you a one-time 5000 credit bonus.
The festivities don’t end just there. The publisher is also activating double score, allowing everyone to level up faster during the holidays.
Those who have already updated their games are set to go and will not be required to download anything extra. However, those who haven’t should use the days leading up to the weekend to ensure they are ready to jump in when the event begins.
The Death Star expansion introduces five new multiplayer maps, all leading to the final battle on the planet-sized weapon. New heroes too find their way on to the field of battle in the form of Chewbacca and bounty hunter Bossk.
Owning the expansion also nets you the K-16 Bryar pistol which has a deadly powerful blast in close quarters. Then there’s the TL-50 Heavy Repeater which sends storms of bolts into approaching enemies.
In the vehicles department, the expansion brings two of the most iconic starfighters to the game: Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced X1 and Luke Skywalker’s Red Five X-wing.
Death Star is Star Wars: Battlefront’s third paid expansion, following Outer Rim and Bespin. It was released as a tie-in to the new Star Wars movie. Similar to the previous expansions, the Death Star DLC is available for purchase at $15. Owning the season pass for $50 gets you all the expansions, plus additional goodies, and a saving of $10.
